Orthodontic Therapists - A Challenge for the 21st Century
The training of Orthodontic Therapists in the UK was made possible by changes in legislation when the General Dental Council opened a Register for Dental Care Professionals in 2007. The Yorkshire Orthodontic Therapy Course was the first ever practical training course for this grade of health care professional.
This lecture aims to look at the challenges faced in establishing and delivering such a training course and the challenges we face as a profession at large in maintaining standards and getting the right skill mix in the workplace set against the constraints of the financial environment under which we now operate
