There has been an escalating interest in 3D imaging devices over the last decade. Increasingly dental professionals are beginning to appreciate the advantages that the third dimension gives to clinical diagnosis, treatment planning and patient education. This lecture focuses on the digital age of dentistry with cutting edge technology of cone beam CT imaging and discusses the range of issues associated with this technology. The lecture will give a firsthand account of CBCT Imaging in a purely orthodontic environment and share the experiences of CBCT usage in everyday Orthodontics.
