Case Report: A Follow-Up (5 Years Post Treatment) of Bi-Maxillary Crowding Treated with Damon System
Objective: The aim of this work is to check long-term stability of orthodontic treatment with Damon System.
Method: After an accurate diagnosis based on careful analysis of the records:
-medical history, clinical exam, intra and extra-horal photos, panorex and tele-radiography L-L
cephalometric analysis, the patient, FP, 19 years was treated with Damon System 2 for 10 mouths.
Clinical and aesthetic observation: severe crowding, active periodontal breakdown on 42 , flat profile, very fine lips, large nose.
Diagnosis: Angle’s Class I on the left and Class II on the right, severe crowding (7mm) in upper and lower arch in permanent dentition, 3 mm midline deviation, missing space for 42 incisor and 13 canine, anterior cross-bite 12/42
Treatment plan: orthodontic treatment with Damon System 2, no extraction, wearing only class II inter-maxillary elastics on the right side.
10 months treatment.

Long distance records: 27.01.2009
Results: Final aesthetic observations: beautiful smile in a better profile. Final clinical valuations: Angle Class I on the left and right, good leveling and aligning, good inter-cuspidation, better periodontal situation and perfect transverse relation. 6 Andrew’s and Roth’s keys completely achieved.
Conclusions: Follow up: 5 years after treatment, in spite of the initial crowding and the quickness of the treatment, the result is very stable and 6 Andrew’s (static) and Roth’s (dynamic) keys completely maintained in a beautiful smile.
