Lingualjet Technology has recently developed a new appliance concept including customized brackets, straight wire and 3D numerical processes. These technical improvements are gathered in the same bracket system by Lingualjet™ providing a highly advanced tailor-made appliance.
A numerical set-up of the final positions of teeth is performed after a 3D capture of dental arches. The practitioner can check the final occlusion while moving the virtual model into the space by using appropriate 3D software. In addition, specific requirements of placement can be simulated if necessary for a very flexible individualization of the appliance . Then, the numerical set-up constitutes the working model for the engineering step.
The brackets are manufactured applying CAD/CAF technology. 3D softwares are used to design every virtual bracket characterised by an extended bearing surface, facing the lingual surface of the tooth and substantially identical to it. The slots are related to a real straight wire archwire with a standardized form. Then, the brackets are cast preferentially in gold alloy via a step of conversion of the digital objects into a resin models by a Rapid Prototyping machine. The numerical process of the bracket manufacturing warrants a perfect precision of the 3D data incorporated into the slot. Thus, the three orders informations are precisely transmitted to the teeth during orthodontic movements.
The round shape of the brackets with smoothed outlines provides optimal patient comfort.
In this lecture, the advantages of the Lingualjet Bracket are highlighted by clinical cases.
