Orthodontic treatment is unique because the nature of treatment is continuous with well recognized stages. Regardless of malocclusion type and choice of fixed appliances and/or mechanics, all cases pass through the "finishing" stage. Visualizing the finished outcome during the initial treatment plan followed by logical sequential (benchmark) corrections results in a higher probability of orthodontic outcome excellence. The presentation will include a clinically relevant demonstration of how excellent orthodontic finishing can be if applied from start to completion, especially prior to debanding. Efficient management of atypical situations, such as substitution, transposition, congenital missing, tooth size discrepancy etc. will be discussed.
