Course Outline
Dr. Anoop Sondhi - Exploring the Facts, and Some Myths, About Self-Ligation
This presentation will explore some of the known information about self-ligating bracket systems, and the reality of orthodontic treatment with self-ligation. Some clinical pearls in the management of self-ligating appliances will be discussed. Attendees will be introduced to the facts, and some myths, about self-ligation as well as the differences in clinical techniques required.

Dr. Jason Cope - Long Noses and Tall Tales: Facts and Fallacies Surrounding MiniScrew Implant Implementation
With the introduction of TADs, more questions have been asked than answered. What is the ideal diameter of a miniscrew implant? Where are the best locations for placement? Should they be at an angle or perpendicular to the bone surface? How do we attach to them? This lecture will answer these questions and more…using a scientific approach to define the biologic and biomechanical criteria for choosing and implementing miniscrew implants into clinical practice.

Prof. Anmol Kalha "Change in Orthodontics - Where is the Evidence?"
There have been many changes in the approach to orthodontics over the years. The reasons behind these changes range from scientific to belief based decision making. What is the latest evidence to support self-ligating bracket systems? Does it exist? What is still to be discovered with self-ligating bracket systems? These and other questions will be answered as Professor Kalha presents the latest evidence in a thought provoking presentation style.
