President's Message

During the last eight years the Sydney International Orthodontic Congress Committee has worked extremely hard and efficiently in order to prepare and organize in 2010 the greatest scientific and professional convention in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
The International Orthodontic Congress (IOC) hosted by the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), is only held once every five years, brings together the very "best of the best" from all over the world, and this time takes place in one of the most wonderful locations of our planet.
The Scientific Committee of the 7^th IOC has produced an outstanding program consisting of a plethora of continuing education activities that cover all aspects of contemporary orthodontics and related sciences. The program has been designed in order to satisfy the expectations, needs and demands of nowadays clinicians, educators and postgraduate students.
The WFO Executive Committee is grateful to the Australian Society of Orthodontists and the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society for joining the 7^th IOC thus maximizing its scientific, political and cultural impact.
Sydney is a spectacular and cosmopolitan city with its beautiful beaches and relaxing, friendly and fun loving people. It has excellent shopping areas with both internationally renowned shops as well as local markets within walking distance from your city hotel. Anyone who has visited Australia will tell you it is one of the best destinations ever.
All involved in organizing this meeting can promise that your visit to Sydney and the attendance of the 7^th IOC will produced unforgettable memories and pleasant experiences.

Chairman's Message

G'Day and a warm welcome from Sydney, Australia,

I have the privilege of heading the team organising the 7^th International Orthodontic Congress in Sydney in February 2010.

This is the first time our congress is being hosted in the Southern Hemisphere and we're making sure this is one you simply cannot miss.

We have lined up the best speakers in the world of orthodontics for a stimulating scientific programme that will inform on the latest developments in orthodontics.

We have excellent support from our major sponsors, 3M Unitek, Ormco, GAC, TP and SPEED and a substantial exhibition will bring cutting edge equipment and services to your attention.

The Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre is a world-class venue, with communication systems and facilities that will maximise the value of your attendance. The centre is located on Darling Harbour, close to the city centre, and for most delegates will be no more than a pleasant stroll from your hotel.

February finds Sydney in its vibrant summer mood and our social programme will ensure you have a great opportunity to network and enjoy the best in Aussie food, wine and entertainment. This is your opportunity to visit the Sydney Opera House and just imagine yourself here on a harbour cruise on a balmy summer's evening or climbing our landmark Sydney Harbour Bridge.
